Movie series "Property in view"

On December 16 we will show The Sisters Brothers (FRA/ ESP/ ROU/ BE/ USA 2018) (OmU).

About our series

Once a month during the semester, our series brings the debate on property issues to the big screen. We show a filmic treatment of conflicts over property, current dynamics of change and possible alternatives. A member of our Collaborative Research Center will give a brief introduction to the film at the beginning of the evening and shed light on the connections between the film and our property research. The film will be followed by a discussion with anyone from the audience who is interested. The films are usually shown in the original language with subtitles.

About the movie

Oregon, 1851. Brothers and contract killers Charlie and Eli Sisters are hunting gold prospector Hermann Kermit Warm, who has invented a miracle formula for easy gold panning. This knowledge could be worth a fortune. On their journey to California, the brothers encounter many difficulties, and they are not the only ones after the gold formula.

The film will be introduced by Lara Rößig, historian at the University of Erfurt in the area of North American history.
