Sanjay Jothe is a development professional with more than 15 years of work experience. He has worked with various government and non-government organisations in India. He has received his first Masters in Social Work from Devi Ahilya University India and a second Masters in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, U.K. He has recently submitted his PhD thesis to the department of Habitat Studies, Tata institute of social sciences, Mumbai, India. His thesis title is "Understanding urban vulnerability: People's day-to-day experience of risks and uncertainties – the cases of urban slums in Indore and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh." He specialises in Dalit and Tribal Empowerment, Climate Change, Urban Development, Urban Water and Waste Management, Watershed Management, Women Empowerment, Livelihood Security, Economic Justice, Democracy, Social Discrimination issues and Adolescent and Population Education etc.
