Thomas Eichhorn

Thomas Eichhorn is a sociologist and scientific researcher at the Department for Methods of Empirical Social Research and Social Structure Analysis at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. Within the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB 294), he works on the subproject B06 “Property Inequality in the Private Sphere. Couple-Internal and External Drivers of Change in Property Arrangements in Couple Relationships“. He studied Sociology at the Dresden University of Technology from 2010 to 2016. From 2017 to 2020, he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Communication and Media Studies at Leipzig University, where he conducted research on digital inequality and online participation in digital media. Since 2020, he has been a research fellow at the German Youth Institute in Munich, focusing on family research. In parallel, he has been pursuing a PhD on modern fatherhood at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg since 2024.
