Viktorie Haldovská has been a research associate in the subproject JRT06 “(Media) Ownership in the Digital Transformation of the Public Sphere” within the Collaborative Research Centre “Structural Change of Property” since July 2025.
Her work focuses on how ownership structures in digital capitalism shape the conditions and forms of publicness. Within the project, she leads the qualitative empirical study that investigates the transformation of media ownership by globally operating digital corporations.
She previously studied European Ethnology and Indology at the University of Würzburg, followed by a Master's in Social Sciences and Conflict Studies at the University of Augsburg. Her Master's thesis, titled “New Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere after Habermas: An Analysis of the Concept of Publicness in the Digital Age”, explored theoretical redefinitions of publicness under the conditions of digital media ecologies.
Her research interests include critical theories of the public sphere, the political economy of digital media, qualitative social research, and transnational media analysis.
