Abibi Stewart studied philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She is interested in Marxism, critical theory, feminist philosophy and materialist theories of racism. In her master's thesis on racial capitalism, she developed a systematization of current Marxist perspectives on the relationship between racism and capitalism. As of May 2024, she is a research assistant in subproject C02 of the CRC “Structural Change of Property“. In the subproject "Property in the human body in the context of transnational economies of reproduction", she examines property-theoretical underpinnings of Marx's concept of labour and asks to what extent these obstruct an appropriate theorization of global reproductive economies.
