Allan Sandham

Allan Sandham has been a research associate with teaching duties at the Chair of Organizational, Labor and Economic Sociology at the Technical University of Berlin since April 2025. Since July 2025, he has been an associate member of the SFB 294 “Structural Change of Property”. His work is at the intersection of organizational and economic sociology, with a particular focus on elites, property and wealth.

He studied sociology with a focus on technology at the TU Berlin and subsequently completed a Master's degree in Labor, Economics and Society at the University of Hamburg. As a student at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, he worked on inequality, institutional change and the structural conditions of modern forms of capitalism.

In his research, Allan is particularly interested in the social and institutional conditions of property and wealth accumulation. The focus here is on the increasing influence of private foundations in societal transformation processes and in the reproduction of large-scale wealth.
