Annika Troitzsch studied sociology and psychology at the University of Freiburg and the University of Bordeaux and completed her master's degree in sociology at the University of Frankfurt. In her master's thesis, she discussed critical and neo-materialist perspectives on the relation between bodies and industrial chemicals. Her research interests include science and technology studies, environmental humanities, political ecology, sociology of the Anthropocene, feminist theories and new materialisms. One of her main focuses is on social relations to nature and the economization of nature. Currently, she is working on her PhD thesis as part of the project “Financialization and Water Security”.
Eigenes Forschungsprojekt
In ihrem Promotionsprojekt beschäftigt sie sich mit der Materialität von Wasser in Ökosystemen als Herausforderung für die Finanzialisierung von Wasser. Hierbei interessieren sie Fragen danach, in welchen Formen Wasser finanzialisiert werden kann und in welchen es unverfügbar bleibt sowie die Frage, wie Prozesse der Finanzialisierung unter Anbetracht der Materialität von Wasser konzeptualisiert werden können.
