Prof. Dr. Tilman Reitz

Tilman Reitz is Deputy-Speaker of the SFB.

Tilman Reitz, born in 1974, is a professor for the sociology of knowledge and social theory at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Jena since 2015. After studying philosophy, sociology, and art history in Berlin and Heidelberg, he received his PhD in 2001 at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Heidelberg. 2003-2007 he worked in Jena at the Institute of Philosophy, 2009 he became an assistant professor in Sociology. In 2013, he completed his habilitation in philosophy and sociology.  Tilman Reitz works on the sociology of the humanities and social sciences, political philosophy and critique of ideology, the sociology of higher education, and economies of information.
